It’s been a minute since I’ve shared an outfit post and my face around here, so I’m breaking the streak here today… with a special guest star, to boot!
Winter outfits are a tricky task for me to blog because, well… I hate winter. This we know! I have to admit…I really can’t complain because we’ve been getting a little warm streak here in California (we get one every January/and or February) and I’m milking it for all it’s worth! Yesterday (when we took these pictures) it was nearly 70 degrees out! So needless to say, I was more than comfortable in open back slides and no coat.
However, because I realize winter is still very much the current season and we have plenty of cool temps ahead until it’s actually spring (boo), I thought I’d share how I like to dress for winter when I wish it was spring!
White…. all of the white!
I’m so glad the whole ‘no white after Labor Day’ is a rule of the past because I happen to love it year round, especially in winter! I love how fresh and crisp it feels and pairs with everything! I’ve really come to realize that my closet consists of blue, white, grey, and a pop of camel….. so clearly white fits right on in with that neutral color scheme no matter what season it is.
Keeping things simple, clean & classic
I go easy with accessories in the winter because I just like keeping things simple. But simple doesn’t have to mean boring! I eyed these earrings over the Christmas season but resisted due to the price. Well, they’re finally on super sale and I’m so excited to be a proud owner! You’ll see me wear them year round from here on out because, again, they’re white and go with everything! They’re the perfect touch of fun with still keeping in line with clean & classic style.
Boat tote is a year round staple in my book
Another fun way to feel like I’m just a summer loving girl living through winter is never being without a boat tote. I received this tote for Christmas from my mama and I’ve been loving using it as an everyday tote! Between running errands, being out with Dallas and needing to carry things for him, and just needing more space to throw things in… it’s the perfect way to have that nautical touch without even thinking much about it!
I’m so glad the mule slide trend is here to stay for a while! I basically think of them as an elevated flip flop… and I’m 100% okay with that. I love how they seamlessly transition between all seasons and there are SO many cute options out there right now! This pair I’m wearing in these photos was a random on a whim Amazon purchase and I’m so glad I went for it! I wear them all the time, they’re pretty comfy, and everyone always asks where I got them and is blown away by the price!
Dallas thinks it should be spring and summer year round, too! And he also thinks that he should now be a part of every outfit post from here on out on amybethcampbell.com
I’ll note that if it was below 60 degrees, I’d throw on this down coat over this entire outfit and my exposed heels would freeze… but besides that, these are truly some ways I keep things feeling summery year round!
Whatever the weather is in your neck of the woods (stealing this line from the wonderful Al Roker), I’m wishing you spring and summer vibes in your starts to your weeks!
