Happy Monday! Anyone else need a little bit more coffee and a lot more Jesus this morning after such a busy weekend?? I sure did!
Today I wanted to kick off a new little ‘series’ on here!
Many of our weekends are as about as mellow as they come, but some have a bit more to them! Thanks to Instagram Stories, I’ve been trying to snap photos of the fun little activities that occur throughout the weekend. However, those snaps go away after 24 hours and then I realize I never saved the photos and wanted to remember some of those moments! I also realize that not everyone checks Insta Stories! In fact, I’m really guilty of this myself. So I wanted to start a little series on here that is a recap of the weekend! Taking note of anything fun or significant that happened, explaining a few snaps here or there, and ultimately just catching up with y’all! So let’s go for it!
First of all, let’s talk about those gorgeous pink peonies!!! Is that not the most vibrant color of pink you’ve ever seen?! And the sweetest little vase they’re in?! Well, both the blooms and the vase unexpectedly arrived at my doorstep on Thursday evening from the sweetest Amber! I had a bit of an ‘off’ week, and though Amber and I had made plans to have little girls night on Thursday night, I ended up having to be a jerk and bail last-minute on Thursday morning. I was totally bummed and felt awful about it!
Well, sweet Amber ended up making a trip to the SF Flower Mart that morning for work and ended up picking me up these beauties and leaving them in a perfect blue bag on my doorstep for when I got home from work. I mean….. my goodness!!! Y’all, I shed happy tears! It was honestly the most kind and thoughtful gesture and it absolutely turned my mood right around to propel me into having a wonderful weekend! Thank you, sweet friend!!!
I started my Saturday morning with sitting down with my Bible and just got lost in it! I shared a bit about what I read and was experiencing in this Instagram post. I also discovered this beautiful lettering above from Ruth Simmons who is so incredibly talented! Check out her work, her blog… and everything else she’s up to! #newfavoritebloggeralert
After that quiet morning, I got a good chunk of work done through the day – working on projects that I can’t yet share about but are very exciting! Once I clicked ‘save’ and ‘send’ on everything I was hustling through, we decided it was near time to get out of the house! We love wide open space, small towns, big parking spaces, and cheap Mexican food. So that’s exactly what set out to find!
We had an impromptu date night in Pleasanton, which is in the south part of the East Bay and inland a bit. I grew up coming to Pleasanton to visit tack shops since I was horsey obsessed and my patient mother would let me browse and dream as I looked at everything from boots, to breeches, to fly spray! To this day I still adore the town, how it still feels small and warm, and honestly… how it reminds me of Texas! We had a perfect little evening exploring and landing on a taqueria with fab fish tacos AND horchata (with free refills!). Needless to say, I was a happy lady.
Early Easter morning, some bunny came to visit us! Sam got Fruity Pebbles and candy. I got a picture frame and a cute top (not pictured) from TJ Maxx that the bunny had picked out earlier in the week. The rosé? It was a hostess gift for my Seester for Easter Brunch and it only made its way into the basket for the presentation and pic. Ha! #EasterBunnyImprovises
Then it was off to church with my family! The Easter sermon isn’t available online just yet, but if you’re interested, here is where the sermons are linked. I highly recommend taking the time to listen or watch this week! I loved how he tied in losing his mom to cancer at the end. I love when moments of sermons feel like they’re directly speaking to you! And to think how many other people in those many Easter weekend services may have felt the same for different reasons. God is always working and it is amazing!
Finally, we had a big family brunch! Isn’t my Seester’s blue and white table so gorgeous?! If you ever wondered where the blue and white love comes from…. it runs deep in the family. We stuffed ourselves! We visited! We watched the rain pour while we were all cozied by a fire. Y’all know I hate cold rain, but nothing gets me down on the day celebrate our risen Savior!!! I was going to wear these heels and my $14.99 white lace skirt from ROSS no matter what! Note: I lasted all day in these babies without any breaking them in prior and I was more than comfortable! This just doesn’t happen with me and heels, so I truly can’t recommend them enough!
And that was our weekend! I hope this little recap wasn’t too boring! I likely won’t post one every Monday, but would like to keep it up after some fun weekends here and there if y’all enjoyed reading today!
I hope y’all had a wonderful weekend as well! And if you were able to head to church this weekend and heard something that stuck with you, let’s get coffee! I want to hear! I’ll meet you anywhere in the Bay Area or we can Skype! Also, if you weren’t able to make it to church but want that adorable ‘coffee + Jesus’ mug in the first two pics, come with us to church! They give them to visitors 🙂
Here’s to a fresh start to a new week!
