Hello, Taco Tuesday! It’s my favorite (eating) day of the week! Taco Tuesday is truly a must in our home, as we both could eat Mexican food like there’s no tomorrow. So even though you’ll often find us eating tacos or other Mexican faire multiple times throughout the week, Tuesday night’s tacos have become a tradition. And what pairs ever so perfectly with our routine? A classic margarita.
I’m certain that a good margarita is one of my love languages. Fun fact: the weekend I met my husband, I brought Patron for my own signature birthday cocktail. Not only did Sam feel slightly overwhelmed (in the best way possible ?) by this woman walking out onto the campsite done up like she was ready for a day shopping on Rodeo Drive, but I quickly whipped out my personal bottle of Patron and started fixin’ myself a marg. What can I say… I’m a lady who knows what she wants!
So yes, I have some experience with perfecting this signature drink of mine. My secret to success? Contreau, simple syrup, and fresh limes. I could drink this margarita any day of the week, but with it being the Taco Tuesday before Cinco de Mayo this week, this was a must-share today.
Salivating yet? Here’s what you need for your own:
2 oz of fresh lime juice
1 1/2 oz of Patron
3/4 oz of Cointreau
1/4 oz of simple syrup (more or less to taste)
Salt for glass rim
Make the simple syrup ahead of time or allow it some time to cool. Salt the rim of your chilled glass. Combine ingredients. Enjoy. It’s that simple and that easy!
This marg is so simple, tart, and refreshing! And minus the touch of simple syrup, not alllll that bad for you. So it’s time to turn on some Jimmy Buffett and get your own Taco Tuesday night started. Or if you’re holding out for a time to fiesta, this is a MUST for this coming Thursday!
