I’ll admit it: I’m a lover of designer handbags. The purchase of my Louis Vuitton Speedy still remains one of my proudest life moments. Because for me, it’s a classic bag that I know I will have the rest of my days. Therefore, I was willing to invest. But let’s face it: some designer handbags don’t always fall in the same category.
Sometimes, we flip through a Vogue, look at our favorite fashion blogger’s sites, and browse Nordstrom’s latest catalog and we spot a killer handbag that we just NEED… until we check the price. Often when it’s that scenario, it’s not the LV we’ve been coveting for years. Rather, it’s just a gorgeous and fun handbag that we’d love to have in our closets but can’t fathom paying the high price for it! In comes… the glorious term: designer bag dupe.
I love a good dupe, especially in terms of a trendy handbag. Will it last forever? No. But will it be in style in a few years? Probably not. So for me, all the fun summer bags I’m seeing out right now (I’m looking at you Chloé and Zac Posen) definitely fall under my “buy a dupe version” list.
The bags I’ve rounded up above are all crossbody options, which to be honest is normally not my go-to. I weirdly feel boyish with a crossbody – I blame it on being tall. However, I love all of these styles and think they’re perfectly feminine! And really, I’m thankful I’m loving the crossbody option for the summer as they’re the perfect choice for concerts, festivals, fairs, BBQ and picnics…. all of those sweet summertime activities that you don’t want to carry a big tote to.
I can’t get over how some of these look nearly identical to the real deal! I often find that dupes can have a very “fake” look about them… but not these! And some listed are genuine leather, as well! So if you really loved it and wanted it for years to come… you absolutely could!
Whether you’re a designer gal through and through or would never even think to spend money on something just because it has a label…. remember that style is always what you make it. If you absolutely love it, then own it! It doesn’t matter what it costs, where you got it, or what you paid for it. Whatever the case is… just work it, ladies!
