Happy hump day! It’s been warm and sunny in the Bay Area, I’ve been doing pretty darn well at this Whole 30 thing, and I’m just plain happy that it’s spring! Warm weather = joy to me, so to finally feel like the rain and cold is behind us makes me feel like a new woman. It also makes me go through my closet and shove anything that resembles cold weather to the back and bust out all of my favorite spring items!
I have some key picks that you can find me wearing April – September… pretty much on repeat. Some are investment pieces and some are just plain great budget finds. For the budget finds, I often do a little ‘stock up’ every spring depending on where I think my wardrobe is lacking. As for the pricier investment pieces, I consider them well paid for. I honestly wear some of these gems nearly every day. This outfit shows off everything that I’m constantly throwing on when I don’t need or want to be too fussy in outfit planning.
Lisi Lerch Tassel Earrings – I first fell in love with these via Design Darling. I hemmed and hawed over if they were really worth the higher price tag for beaded earrings, but…. they were. I love them! I wear them with so many outfits – casual and running errands, Sunday church, girls night out or in, cocktail attire… they can do no wrong in my book.
Bauble Bar Monogram Necklace – Y’all know I love monograms. Perhaps that’s an understatement. Truthfully, I need one on me in some form at all times. So yes, ‘obsessed’ may be a better way to put it. This acrylic one is staple in my everyday jewelry routine. I love how the pearl color goes with everything and yet still stands out against an outfit.
Old Navy Striped Shirt – Old Navy is THE place to stock up on tees. So budget friendly, soft, comfortable, and easy to throw on. I stock up every spring and wear them through and through. I love this hi-low/split hem version which gives just a little more detail to the outfit than your standard crew or v-neck.
J.Crew Downtown Field Jacket – The ‘must have J.Crew’ jacket. Goes. With. Everything. It’s lightweight, the gold details are enough to dress up or you can rock it with casual boyfriend jeans. It is THE jacket I grab the most, especially because you never know when the Bay’s fog will roll in. Bay Area girls know the struggle is so real when it comes to the fog. So to have this one on hand is a must.
Old Navy White Jeans – Again, Old Navy just brings the heat with spring attire. I’m insanely picky when it comes to white jeans. I’ve tried everything from designer to Target and still been disappointed (too tight, too see through, too thick, too off white – ugh!) But THESE are goodies! I love this straight leg version because my muscular legs don’t look good in a true tight skinny white. It’s all about accepting and owning it, y’all.
A good tan wedge – the ones I’m wearing here are an old Franco Sarto (a brand I love, FYI) Nordstrom Rack find, but you get the idea. I style a tan wedge like you wouldn’t believe. They’re so versatile! Just make sure you commit to real leather. They’ll be pricey, yes. But for me, nothing is worse than heat, pleather straps, and blisters.
My baby Louis Vuitton Speedy – She’s been with me through thick and thin. Purchased her in Rome and have never looked back. She’s monogrammed with my maiden name initials and is a part of my soul. I wish I were joking. I’m not. But really, a good bag you love and will have forever is always a welcomed addition to any closet, any time of year. I linked a site that has them in good used condition, if you’re interested in investing!
What are your favorite spring pieces? I’d love to know!
