Happy First Day of Spring! Not this past weekend but the one before it, I hosted a super fun little ladies luncheon/wine tasting soirée! I’ve been eager to share these bright and cheery photos from the event in honor of today being the first official day of springtime!
Remember this post where I introduced you to ‘THE’ sparkly wine bottles? And remember me saying I would go into more detail in the future? Well the time is now!
After meeting Michele, the ONEHOPE rep I connected with at the Kendra Scott Walnut Creek opening, I knew I had to experience the brand beyond my Galentines Day tablescape. I really wanted to taste more of the wine, have my girlfriends taste the wine, and have all of us really hear more about ONEHOPE and it’s mission as a whole. So, I decided to host a small gathering with my sweet friends and check off all of those boxes! And seeing that I’m beyond excited for warmer temps and fresh blooms, the day was inspired by all things spring!
So I picked up some of my favorite florals, selected and made my all-time favorite menu for a spring gathering (more on those recipes very soon!) and had my favorite gals come ready to sip with the help of Michele leading the tasting!
Here’s a little review of what we tried!
To start: The California Sparkling Brut
I’m a lady who loves her bubbles! But anything too sweet gives me and my sinus’ an insta-headache. That being said, I’m picky about those bubbles! This brut is an excellent balance and dry and crisp… not at all overly sweet! I definitely picked up the tropical and lime zest notes! Not surprising in the slightest seeing as how I devour anything with a tropical or citrus situation! This was the perfect way to perk up the palette and get our tasting started before diving into food!

With our meal: California Chardonnay
I don’t want to overuse the word ‘crisp’, but it really is the perfect way to describe the vibrancy of this chardonnay! It was perfect with a light spring-inspired luncheon faire and it’s notes of pear and apple mixed with oak really did taste light, refreshing, and just plain yummy! I’m a white wine girl, so this was probably my favorite to try! Plus… can we talk about the pink & white label? Yes, please!

To finish: California Cabernet Sauvignon
Confession: I’m clueless when it comes to tasting red wine. It’s not my preferred go-to (I can hear the red wine drinkers gasp as I type), so I just don’t have the educated palette to say what I taste when sipping. However, I can tell you if I like or pass on a red when placed in front of me. I usually say ‘no thanks’ to anything too rich and overpowering, but enjoy something with a little spice that makes me crave some grilled meat! Well, that was this Cabernet Sauvignon! I swear I craved BBQ every darn day after I tasted this! Yum.

Overall, I truly was more impressed than I thought I would be with the wine tasting! My husband Sam is a proclaimed wine snob, and I’ve had the pleasure of tasting some extremely fine wines because of it. I may not have quite the same refined palette, but I still wasn’t sure how ONEHOPE would “measure up”. Well, I honestly really loved what we tried! I thought the price point was extremely reasonable and I loved that there was some real flavor behind those pretty little bottles! But what made me really fall for the wine as a whole is ONEHOPE’s mission in giving back.
As y’all know, my brother-in-law passed away from cancer a year and a half ago. So whenever a company is committed to working towards giving back to disease or issues of our broken world, my heart is touched. I loved hearing a bit more about Michele’s passion to work with ONEHOPE in giving back, and absolutely felt as if the wine tasted that much better as me and my girlfriends we’re having a heartfelt moment about cancer and our world beyond a wine tasting party.
As you saw the gift box of wine and two “you are my bestie” glasses in the photos above… I’m happy to report that you can purchase that and similar little gift box options! Check out all the options here! Aren’t they so darn cute?! I love the idea of sending someone this birthday box from a far, or gifting this adorable WOOF! option for someone who just got a new puppy!
How to purchase wine or host a party of your own!
Honestly y’all, let me be totally real…. I’m not normally into ‘parties’ where you’re viewing product for purchase. I always feel pressured to buy, uncomfortable if I say ‘no’, or just plain don’t feel like the product is worth the price tag. This experience was nothing like that. Yes, Michele is a part of a bigger brand… but that’s just it! She’s a part of something BIGGER that is provoking change and awareness to some amazing causes! Working with Michele and ONEHOPE was nothing like I’d experienced in the past. Never abrasive or pushy, but rather just extremely encouraging and supportive! AND… the wine is good! The gift boxes are cute! And you can support it all while celebrating with your girlfriends! Truly, win-wins in my book. I would recommend Michele and ONEHOPE to any girlfriend of mine locally and from afar!
You may purchase any wine of gifts here or via any of the links in this post. And if you’re in the Bay Area and want to host an event of your own, email Michele at firstname.lastname@example.org. Not in the Bay Area but still interested? Email her! She’ll still absolutely be able to point you in the right direction!
I hope this information and inspiration from my Spring Soirée was a fun way to officially kick off spring! Here’s to hoping every one of y’all gets a little glimmer of sunshine, pretty blooms, and a good glass of wine this week to get into the spirit!
Cheers to you, spring!
