If you follow along with me on Instagram, you you may already be familiar with the tote I’m sporting here today. It was a random find at Nordstrom Rack, but an exciting one for multiple reasons. First, I’ve been looking for my version of a perfect faux leather tote for quite some time, never fully set on one I loved (I’m piiiiicky). Second, Nordstrom Rack ended up loving my picture showing off my find, “re-grammed” my post, the tote sold out on their website within 30 minutes, and I had over 300 new friends following along on Instagram by the end of it all. If you’re here because of that – hi!!! I’m so happy you’re here!!!
Let me tell you, the whole experience was super exciting for this nerdy blogger! And far beyond the numbers spiking, it was honestly just so much fun to see ladies fall in love with the same bag and to purchase it via me! I’m STILL getting comments from girls who snagged one for themselves and they’re loving it and I can’t tell you how much joy that brings me. Really though, whether it’s connecting via a heart for Jesus, self-confidence and dieting struggles, and faux leather totes?? Y’all just get me. So today I’m showing off my new baby bag with a fun spring outfit!
I’m a huge fan of mixing prints and texture in outfits – I think it spices up ‘basics’. I also think that it can draw so much more detail to the eye and not be too overwhelming, if done correctly. Simple stars and eyelet are an easy pair together, as would be polka dots or other prints with a more simplistic vibe. I grabbed this chambray at Old Navy and the eyelet pants at Target nearly 2 summers ago, but I can’t tell you how much I love them both. I mix and match the two with nearly everything in my closet. I throw on different accessories and shoe with them and always feel like I’m rocking something new. And pairing them both together with the tote? Love. I wore this ensemble to Sunday church and brunch, but it could certainly be a fun look for a casual meeting or lunch with a girlfriend. Though the items I’m wearing are no longer available, I’ve linked a good amount of options to re-create the look in the sliders below!
Fun facts: when we shot this, there was freezing cold wind from the darn fog blowing in. So if you notice goosebumps and purple limbs in these photos, just roll with it. Also…. turns out shooting in wind makes me bring out some extra saucy facial expressions. I promise I’m not attempting to model professionally any time soon. What’s really going through my head in some of these shots? Get me inside next to the space heater on high. Also, the earrings can’t be tagged for a dupe because I MADE THEM, Y’ALL. If you want to see how, comment below and let me know and I’ll come up with a tutorial post in the future!
Happy browsing these links below… perhaps YOUR perfect faux leather tote is amongst this list and calling your name?? 😉
