Hello again, Monday. After a fairly laid back weekend of resting, cleaning, organizing, making to-do’s lists and slowly but surely checking them off in our own timeframe… you would think I’d be ready to jump into the routine of things again. Negative. I’d take easy weekends like this past one over a rigid schedule any day! BUT there is ONE routine I’m consistently rigid and disciplined with no. matter. what. My skincare regimen!
It’s been a while since I’ve shared what I use and its actually changed quite a bit so I definitely wanted to keep y’all in the loop. And let me tell y’all, I would not change things up this much if these products weren’t absolute game changers! They’re totally worth a detailed, updated blog post and I’m so excited to share! Let me break it down step by step and product by product:
Pond’s Cold Cream Cleanser: Yes, as in the stuff at the very bottom of the shelf at the drugstore and the same stuff in your grandmother’s medicine cabinet. I have consistently seen rave reviews about this cult classic year after year but I never committed. I feared that because it was so thick it would cause me to breakout so I just couldn’t stomach the risk. Well, a month or so ago I was out of my usual makeup remover at the end of the month and really didn’t have the budget left for my usual product choice, so…. I took the plunge. Best. Decision. Ever. I am obsessed with this stuff and completely see why it’s been a classic for generations! At the end of the day, I rub it on like a would a thick lotion on my face and magically watch all my makeup disintegrate. It doesn’t irritate my eyes while getting pesky mascara off, it truly removes everything, it’s consistency is so rich and luxurious feeling, it never leaves my sensitive skin feeling dry or stripped OR broken out, AND…. it’s less than $5 for a jar. By the time I’ve wiped all my makeup off, I’ve let the sink water warm up and I’m ready to grab my cleanser to wash it off.
Tula Purifying Face Cleanser (with or without my Clarisonic): I was first introduced to Tula by my dear friend Katey. And let me tell ya – my girlfriends also don’t mess around with their skincare! I trust Katey’s opinion on products 100%, so when my usual routine just wasn’t feeling up to par, I listened to her advice and placed an order of the face wash (and face cream, reviewed below) to start out. I was hooked! I love their probiotic technology formula (probiotics are good for your skin, too – not just your tummy!), I love the consistency of the wash, and I really feel like it does a great job at cleansing everything off from the day. 2 times a week, I wash with my Clarisonic (currently on mega discount thanks to the Anniversary Sale!), to exfoliate. I’ve found that some washes that are gentle enough for every skin type just don’t foam up enough when used with a Clarisonic, but not Tula. It foams beautifully and I love the way my face feels so clean and smooth afterwards!
Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil: I received this product as a part of the AOL Summer Beauty Awards and I’m so thankful I did! Just after I wash my face, I lightly dap my face with a towel making sure to not get it completely dry. While my face still has a little moisture on it, I use 2-3 (depending on how dry I feel) and rub it in. The extra moisture allows the oil to really soak into my pores and begin to moisturize. To be honest, I’ve been using this in place of a serum because the oil has so many skin benefits! According to Indie Lee’s website, “the olive-derived squalane oil promotes skin elasticity, diminishes age spots and hyper pigmentation, and boosts cell regeneration and oxygenation. It also improves texture and tone.” And guess what? It really does all of those things. And as the price is so reasonable for all of those benefits, this will definitely be a repeat purchase for me in the future.
Tula Probiotic Hydrating Day & Night Cream: I try not to play favorites in life, buuuuut…. ok. This is my favorite product I’ve tried from the Tula skincare line! It’s quite literally the most dreamy, whipped cream-like consistency of any face cream I’ve ever tried and keeps my skin so well-balanced and hydrated. I love the smell, too! I have been using it morning and night for about 5 months now and I can’t get enough. I just opened up jar number two! I have seen such a difference in my skin, it really does give it a moisturized glow. How does it do it? Avocado and Squalene oil are amongst the other naturally derived ingredients. Can you tell my skin is loving a theme here?
Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado: Funny enough, this is another product that is always so highly rated but I had just never purchased it for myself. What have I been doing?! This stuff is liquid gold….er, green. It’s so incredibly thick and moisturizing and I can absolutely see what all the fuss is about. I love that the avocado oil deeply restores dehydration to the eye area without irritating it. Though this product isn’t specifically for anti-aging, I’ve always read that one of the biggest causes of aging to the eye area is lack of moisture. So, you can better believe I’ve been putting this on morning and night!
Tula Exfoliating Treatment Mask: This has been my most recent Tula purchase. I went for the trial size, just in case I didn’t love it (I hate being wasteful with beauty products!). Well, I should have gone back to the facts on why I love my other Tula products because this one is no different. Honestly, it’s the first face mask I’ve really, really been over the top impressed with. I use it about 1-2 times a week. I love how exfoliating and fresh it feels after, but my biggest bonus is that it never leaves my skin feeling tight as so many other masks do! Another plus? It can be used as a spot treatment! Breaking out all of a sudden? You can sleep in this stuff and wakeup to a significantly diminished blemish! And to top it all off? It’s a pretty blue color that looks exceptionally good while snap chatting your girlfriends during The Bachelorette on Monday nights 😉
And that’s the round-up! Lots and lots of new products for y’all, I know…but I can’t stress enough how highly I think of them! Especially Tula. I have loved seeing their company grow, what they stand for, their use of naturally derived ingredients, their customer service, and exceptional return policy. It is really unparalleled to most boutique skincare lines.
My skin is truly the happiest it’s been in quite some time which is saying a lot since it’s always seeming to change, especially with age and climate. My hope is that sharing these products here today will do the same for you! Please let me know if you have any questions whatsoever about any of the products I mentioned here today! And don’t be alarmed if you see me with a blue face mask on Snapchat (username: amybethcampbell) tonight 🙂 #teamjojo
