Happy Friday! This week has felt more overwhelming to me than most so I can truly say… “TGIF”! Let’s start this weekend off with a sassy little red dress, shall we?!
I’m a pink girl. Pink dresses, pink accessories, pink lipstick. Don’t act like you’re so surprised! 😉 So naturally, you’d think I would gravitate toward pink for Valentine’s Day! But for some reason, I love me a good saucy red dress for the occasion!
Fun facts: our engagement party was on Valentine’s Day! My mama outdid herself with the decor, yummy food, and overall festive atmosphere and it was so much fun to celebrate our love on the official holiday of love! For the party, I picked out this red dress and I loved the way it felt so romantic, unique, and special for the occasion since I wear pink year round! Well flash forward to today and I’m still in love with this dress and it’s a great go-to option for me this time of year! In fact, I just wore it to my girlfriend’s California wedding reception (she was married in Texas but from CA!) and I likely plan on wearing it to an event in a few weekends as well! What can I say, I like to get my money’s worth with dresses! Haha!
Sadly, this exact frock no longer available to purchase. But I still wanted to share it with y’all here today and include a handful of lacy red dress options that are currently available! And if red doesn’t feel like ‘your color’, I’m going to challenge you on that! There are lots of different ‘reds’ out there, so look for one that suits your complexion! Because I’m fair and blonde, I go for a red with blue undertones so I don’t end up looking like one big tomato. If you’re much more olive, opt for a red that’s on the more rust undertone side! You’ll look tan and fabulous and like the flamenco dancer emoji in no time! Don’t be afraid to go for it with red! There’s a reason so many songs reference a lady in a red dress, right?!
Even if you don’t have plans for Valentine’s Day just yet, why not just go ahead and make some and have an excuse to wear a little red dress! I of course love the idea of any excuse to get dressed up for your man, whether you stay in our go out! But I also always love the idea of a Galentines night in or out with your besties, too! I’m a firm believer in utilizing any and every opportunity you can get to wear a dress and feel beautiful inside and out!
Hope y’all have a wonderful weekend ahead! Any super bowl plans?! I’m rooting for The Atlanta Falcons (love supporting the underdog and southern football!), so maybe I should wear this dress in their honor as I serve pulled pork sliders and queso to my husband! Wink wink!
