Is it actually Friday? Has it really been a week since I could get a post up and live here? Yes. Yes, it has.
Just after I clicked ‘publish’ on last week’s post, the weekend and week were an absolute whirlwind. The drive to the mountains took us 6 1/2 hours (the trip is usually around 3) to put our arrival time as 2:30 AM. It was miserable. With this set back of no sleep, frustration, still recovering from my sickness, and already being drained from a long week….we both barely made it through the weekend. Sometimes, things just don’t go as planned.
Alas, I’m happy to report that this week has been a better one. I’ve unexpectedly worked a lot less of my usual nanny hours and have had the ability to work on a whole bunch of other things I’m currently pursuing. From everything to this blog, to that side project I keep hinting at, to sprucing up our home for spring! I have much to share in all of those areas soon, so please excuse my lack of posting this week and look forward with me to what’s to come here on amybethcampbell.com!
As it is currently storming outside and that makes me sad, I decided the most suitable post for this Friday was a round of favorites. Here are all the things on my radar currently:
Yes, it’s been cold and rainy for a week straight, but I’ve been seriously craving some rosé recently. I finally caved and picked up a bottle at World Market this week and I’m eager to open it on up this weekend with my space heater on high.
And with all of the gloomy weather as of late, I’ve been in need of a serious pick me up/reminder that spring is still coming… eventually. On a whim, I decided to make a quick trip to Ikea to see what their plant selection was like and picked up this happy little guy (as posted on my Instagram). I can’t get over how much he’s livened up our little table and what he adds to our already very coastal inspired bedroom. If there is an Ikea near you, it’s a great spot for extremely reasonably priced plants. Home Depot or your local nursery is also a great option as well.
With my husband Sam’s busy season for accounting, he’s not home for dinner these days. And because of that, I will shamefully admit that I haven’t been cooking whatsoever. After nearly drooling on my laptop keyboard while finding this recipe on Pinterest, I finally can’t wait to try it this weekend as we will both be home! I’m going to take my own spin on it and make it a complete meal with some sides. If the darn clouds part enough for me to take some decent photos, I’m hoping to share what I do with it here soon! Also, I will note: making this dish is another excuse to justify my rosé purchase, is it not?
If you follow me on Instagram (you should), you saw that we attended an event at The Claremont Hotel & Spa this past Sunday. As a born and raised East Bay Area lady, The Claremont has always held a special place in my heart. It’s so gorgeous and a classic and iconic spot nestled in the Berkeley Hills overlooking the San Francisco Bay. Recently, Fairmont Hotels acquired The Claremont and gave it the most beautiful update. It is gorgeous. Crisp white walls, brass accents, gorgeous textiles, and bold patterns mixed throughout. So incredibly well done. I’ve been day dreaming all week about spending more time there as it’s just in our backyard! Though a night’s stay would be a luxurious treat to say the least, I’m even hoping to simply grab a cocktail at their gorgeous bar a bit more often now!
If you’re ever curious for more of what’s inspiring me currently, my Pinterest is the place to be! I’m a serious pinning addict and most of what I will continue to share here on Friday Favorites will be an extension of what I’m posting there. Follow along and come pin with me!
Wishing you a fabulous weekend – with hopeful spots of sunshine, rest and genuine relaxation! Back to our regularly scheduled blogging program next week, I promise!
