Happy Wednesday, y’all! This lady is finally getting back to real life after a 4 day trip to Texas to visit a dear friend! I had planned to share today’s post this past Friday, but there were some technical difficulties and I couldn’t fix them in time before I was on the plane en route! After being so frustrated with not getting the post live, I ended up unplugging during my trip and it was so wonderful and needed. There is just something to be said about girl talk, time with friends that feel like family, Southern hospitality, shopping, and eating all of the amazing Texas food!
Transitioning back to ‘real life’ has been challenging, but I’m so grateful to have come home to my husband (whom I missed so much!) and our small, but sweet and charming apartment. As I’ve been hinting at, I’m doing my best to get more of our home photographed for y’all! I give any photographer serious credit, but especially in the terms of photographing a home! It takes skill, y’all! But with the help of an exciting new lens and lots and lots of practice, I’m doing my best to get some snapshots of how I decorate our little less than 1,000 sq. feet humble abode!
So with that, these vignettes show off how our home looks for fall right now! Because I love pops of color so much, I don’t gravitate towards your common fall color palette. I need something that works with the pops of pink! Haha! I always love orange as a pop as well, but this time of year it’s especially fun to play up.
When it comes to pumpkins, I prefer ones with a little pizzaz… aka…. faux. Not to be a debbie downer, but I’ve had way too many a’ little mini pumpkins rot before it’s Thanksgiving. It’s probably a combination of the California heat (it doesn’t get cold here until November!), and me purchasing them and putting them out in September. But after spending money on them the past few years only to have to put on latex gloves and plug my nose to dispose of them…. I’ve finally learned my own personal lesson. I found all the white, gold, and silver ones at Home Goods over the past few years and found the faux marble ones on our dining table (seen below) in the dollar section at Target this year! I love them all and think they fit in perfectly in the rest of our decor!
I love seeing the little pumpkin touches all over our home right now, and especially love how a pop of orange roses just makes the room! Another plus of choosing more neutral pumpkin decor? They’ll be appropriate until you’re ready to decorate for Christmas!
Hope y’all enjoyed seeing a little bit more into our home and that it’s a good preview of what’s to come for a real home tour! And if you’re interested in scouting some neutral pumpkin decor for yourself, I’ve linked a few pretty options in the slider below!
Happy Fall Decorating!
