Hello, Wednesday! I told you a had some fall beauty tricks up my sleeve in my last post and I wasn’t lying! Today I’m going over some of my absolute favorite products for fall. Some are classics, some are new products, some are new to me, some are department store and some are drugstore. Each one has been purchased, tested, and loved by yours truly!
I especially love Fall and Winter beauty because it’s an excuse to do a little something extra! Fresh-faced summer skin is always so natural and refreshing, but there’s also something to be said about rich shadow and blush tones, a bit more foundation coverage, dramatic lashes, and a good pigmented lip color. Many of these products listed can absolutely be used year round (and I do!) but I wanted to round up all the ones I’m reaching for the most these days and what I use to make my beauty routine a bit more seasonal and glamorous!
MAC blushes in Blushbaby, Stubborn, & Plum Foolery: Keep in mind, these colors are what work best for me and my fair complexion. However, I absolutely believe in MAC blushes in ANY shade! In my experience (and trust me, I’ve tried a LOT), they just have the best pigments, staying power on your face, and are a fairly reasonable price point for a higher end makeup line. Also, MAC has such a range of color options that you’re guaranteed to walk away from their counter with something that works for you and your coloring. These three I’ve listed are in the mauve color scheme so they look great with anything nude to plum makeup looks. Perfect for fall! And because these blushes are all so pigmented, you can do a quick swipe or layer for a more dramatic effect. From everyday to date night, these blushes will warm your complexion right up for those cooler fall temperatures!
Estée Lauder Double Wear Light: You can’t go wrong with a classic. This and it’s wise older sister, Double Wear, are consistently highly reviewed and I must agree! Much like blushes, I’ve tried a whole lot of foundations and always come back to these two. The coverage is beautiful, which can be needed when dry winter skin kicks in and you’re wanting to cover up a bit more. They’re also build-able, don’t cake, and like they state… are extremely long wearing (I wore this on our wedding day, for reference!). For me and my skin, I prefer the light formula (which is still pretty full coverage), but I have girlfriends that swear by the original formula. Another plus? This foundation seemingly has no age limit. I know women in their 20’s-60’s that are wearing this and love it! To me, that just seals the deal!
L’Oreal Color Riche Palette in Nude 2: This. Palette. Y’all. I saw it at Ulta a few months ago and the rich colors immediately caught my eye, but I resisted. Well, for 2 weeks. Went back to purchase it and I’ve never looked back! I’ve owned this palette that has been wildly successful and to be completely honest…. ended up tossing it after a year or so. The pigment wasn’t very strong, the shadow ‘fall out’ (meaning more product dusts off as you’re applying it than actually sticks to your eyes) was something serious, and the shades with glitter felt far too much and not natural. Also, it’s expensive. So to find this version that has great pigment, blendable and natural colors, and is less than half of the other?! Win win win! And to top it all off? It comes in shades Nude 1 (more golden and brown tones) AND Nude 2 (more mauves and plums) so you can choose which suits you best!
L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Primer & Voluminous Volume Building Mascara: This mascara has been around for years and is consistently voted as a ‘cult classic’. However, they just recently came out with the primer and oh my word y’all… dreams do come true! I’ve always felt a bit skeptical of a lash primers as so many are so expensive. I also questioned if the white-colored formula would really be covered up by my mascara and if not, would I end up looking like a character from Frozen? Well, upon application… you do look like Elsa. But then you quickly swipe on the actual mascara on top and all of a sudden your lashes go from ‘pretty mascara’ to ‘oh my word, girl, are you wearing falsies?!’ Really. This stuff is so amazing for building lashes for thickness, volume, and total va va voom. I can’t get enough of this duo, especially when paired with that eye palette! And the best part? Each one is under $10!
L’Oreal Colour Riche Le Matte Lipcolour Stick in Matte-r of Fact: Yet another L’Oreal product for the win (can you sense a theme? I love me some L’Oreal)! I’ll admit it, the packaging of this is what first caught my eye. Who doesn’t want something that looks like a glamorous crayon in their makeup bag?! But really, I was so pleasantly surprised by this! It’s matte but not drying, good pigment but not too intense, and wears well. I love this for daytime paired with a moisturizing balm or gloss or layered with another lipstick for evening. I loved it so much I grabbed it in a few other shades of pink (shocking, I know) but this jewel-toned shade featured above is dreamy for fall.
MAC Lip Liner in ‘Soar’ & MAC ‘Brave’ Lipstick: If you search this combo on Google or Pinterest, you’re sure to find it so beautifully worn by so many different skin tones and colors. I don’t know what it is, but this mauvey-nude duo really is gorgeous on so many! For me, it comes across as a perfect neutral fall lip that can be worn with little or a lot of makeup. In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with a lip liner and lipstick from MAC. Pigment, staying power, comfortable to wear…. they always deliver.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Soft Lilac: This is by far the most glam of products on my list here today! This stuff is no joke and not for the faint of lipstick hearts. It’s super intensely pigmented and dries completely matte. So matte that this stuff does. not. budge. No, really. I can smooch my hubby’s cheek without seeing a trace of this stuff! It’s so long-wearing that you definitely need makeup remover to get this stuff off at the end of the day. It’s perfect for a fun night out, a party with eating and drinking, a wedding, or any other time you need intensely pigmented color that stays put! Just be warmed that because it stays so well put, it can be drying! Layer on a light balm or lipgloss to seal in some moisture if you need it! Want to see it on? I’m wearing it in this post!
And let’s not forget those nails! The colors I featured here I also featured in this post. They’re by far my favorite and on constant rotation this time of year!
Any go-to makeup products you love in the fall months? You know I’d love to know what y’all use!
