Happy Friday! I’ve talked about this before, but I truly love drugstore beauty bargains. Hair products, makeup, skincare…. all together while also being able to sneak in a pack of skittles and a People Magazine upon checkout? Yes please. Through my many drugstore runs over the years, I feel like I’ve really been able to find products that have become tried and true staples to my routine…especially in the skincare arena!
I have sensitive and extremely dry skin on my body and then combination skin on my face, so I’m exceptionally cautious as to what I use from head to toe. I realize that skin type can often scare off those with similar issues and concerns in terms of trying drugstore solutions, but I promise these are all winners in my book! Some are old staples to me and some are new of about a month of use!
I’m continuously trying cleansing balms as standard cleansers that foam up just leave my skin feeling tight and dry. I’m usually partial to the thicker balms (like cold cream) but this one is a lot lighter and I love it! The scent is fresh and light and it’s perfect for taking off everyday makeup and grime. It’s so soothing and feels so good after you wash it off… I genuinely look forward to using this every night! If you’re needing to wash off a full face of makeup, I would recommend a thicker balm to really break down all of the dirt and oil. But for normal daily use, this stuff is absolutely wonderful!
I’ve read rave reviews about this toner over the years with beauty gurus calling it ‘magical’. However, I’ve never found a toner that hasn’t made my face exceptionally dry and tight so I’ve resisted purchasing. It’s also on the pricier side for drugstore beauty, so that deterred me as well. But as y’all know from my
complaining sharing, we’ve had a really abnormal winter that has really messed with my skin! I was feeling like my dull skin desperately needed an ‘oomph’, so after Katey blogged that she too loved this toner, I decided to take the plunge. IF ONLY I HAD BEEN BRAVE ENOUGH TO TRY YEARS AGO. It’s honestly been such an amazing addition to my skincare routine. It actually does what it promises: makes pores appear smaller, gently exfoliates, and gives your skin and overall glow! I’ve not once felt dry from using this and to be honest, I feel like it sloughs off the dry to make room for the new healthy skin! Seriously y’all, this stuff is actually magical!
Sometimes, I just want an easy every day moisturizer without sunscreen. Because sometimes, I’ll apply sunscreen separately, I’ll be indoors all day, or I need moisturizer to put on out of the shower at night before I go out. I’m constantly on the hunt for a good option for this, but never wanting to spend a lot since it’s not something I use all the time and can justify constantly being a part of my skin regimen. Well y’all, this is that moisturizer! After some research, I saw that this extremely inexpensive option was exactly what I was looking for and I’d say it’s lived up to my expectations! I especially love the smell and it’s a fabulous option to have on hand for when you’re feeling a little extra dry!
Talk about a drugstore staple! This little jar of goodness has been on the bottom shelf of the skincare aisle for years but for good reason. It’s thick, but doesn’t make you break out. I use this at nighttime after I’ve applied a skin oil to really lock it in. I feel like it applies so thick and rich without feeling overly greasy and heavy. It’s been a perfect option for a night cream for me!
This time of year is a body skin struggle for me! I long to be bronzed and tan but I’m still working on trying to keep eczema patches at bay since it’s still definitely winter. Bleh. If I’m being photographed, have and event, or am going to be in a swimsuit, I use sunless tanner and just try to be extra cautious about moisturizing. But once that wears off, I’m back to being pale and dry again. In comes this amazing product! I love that I can apply it post-shower so that it sinks in without me having to towel off first. And speakin
g of towels, I was so skeptical that the product would absolutely stain my towels. But it doesn’t! Nada! It gives me an everyday glow, feels far more moisturizing than the original Jergens Natural Glow lotion and smells better than it, too! I’m a fan!
Here’s to another drugstore staple that likely our grandmothers have used! The original formula was almond-scented, which isn’t my favorite. But when I found out they made it in fragrance free… SOLD. Body oils are my #1 way to hydrate post shower because they’re truly the only thing that really sinks into my skin, keeps my skin moisturized, and doesn’t leave white streaks all over my clothes the second I put them on post-shower. This specific oil never feels too greasy or heavy and my skin drinks it in! It also doesn’t break up my self-tanner when it’s on. This is a YES, y’all!
I’ve blogged about my love for Vaseline brand products on my blog before, and after seeing that, Vaseline’s PR team was kind enough to send me this fabulous blinged-out lotion bottle! Funny thing is, I had recently repurchased the same exact one a few weeks prior (without a sparkly top, that’s just a fancy fun version they graciously sent out in PR packages!) because I always keep it on hand in my bathroom cabinet! This is the perfect unscented, light yet powerful, go-to moisturizer. I’ll use it when I’m feeling extra dry throughout the day, when I need lotion on my palms, ankles, and knees pre-self tanning, or when I somehow convince Sammy to rub my tootsies! I firmly believe every bathroom needs a bottle of this!
I realize I’m a complete broken record with how many times I’m sharing that my skin is dry but I mean…. it really is! Ha! So you can imagine that my hands are in constant need of lotion! I’ve tried them all… fancy, natural, balms, oils…. and I always come back to this one! It stays on after one hand wash (better than most) and you can turn a door handle right after using it. It’s unscented so it doesn’t weirdly mix with any other scents you have going on and it’s nice to not have one strong smell you’re constantly sniffing when you’re applying this throughout the day. You’ll find this little hand lotion at my bedside, in my car, and in my purse at all times!
I’m constantly on the hunt for the latest and greatest of the drugstore, so I always love sharing my finds on here for y’all! I have a handful of new makeup options I’m testing for spring coming up so be on the lookout for those here soon, too!

And speaking of scooping up… I resisted getting Rite Aid ice cream this past week during one of my own drugstore runs. But as the weather is supposed to hit 73 on Sunday, I’m certain a drugstore run for browsing the beauty aisles and a scoop or two of ice cream is a MUST. Am I right?!
