How can something so simple be so good?! Yes, I’m talking avocado toast. It’s ‘on trend’ more than ever right now, showing up on every hip coffee shop menu out there, and clogging all of our Instagram feeds… but I don’t hate it!
I make avocado toast at home all the time (as in almost daily) and I’m constantly switching the toppings up so things don’t get too boring. I thought I’d list out all my favorite toppings to help inspire your own avocado toast combos!
Trader Joe’s ‘Everything but the Bagel Sesame Seasoning Blend’
If you don’t live close to a Trader Joe’s you can still snag this magical seasoning here (for a little higher price tag, but worth it!). It’s been out for about a year but I swear this seasoning is so good on nearly everything! I love it on avo toast, but also like to mix it with scrambled eggs, too!
Red Chili Pepper Flakes
I’m always craving a little kick to things, and red chili pepper flakes always do it! Such an easy way to bring a little heat without overdoing it!
Himalayan Pink Sea Salt
I can’t totally put my finger on why pink salt has a different taste than regular sea salt… but I love it! Maybe it’s a little sweeter? I should probably google it. But I received some recently as a gift (this one would make a cute gift, too!) and I absolutely love it!
Maldon Sea Salt Flakes
Shout out to my husband, Sam, for my love of this salt! Sam is a foodie at heart and heard all sorts of good things about these sea salt flakes. I swear they MAKE avocado toast! They truly are flakes, not grains… so a little goes a long way. But if you have a thing for savory, you will love this salt! We keep ours out for easy access while cooking in this cute little marble bowl.
I cook with olive oil all the time, but once I started drizzling it over avocado toast…. game changer! Plus, I feel fancy every time I drizzle it over my toast with this pretty glass bottle.
Garlic Infused Olive Oil
Sometimes I use garlic olive oil from Trader Joe’s if I’m going for savory… really any infused olive oil is always yummy in my opinion!
There’s a local coffee shop in my home town that serves avocado toast with lime juice/zest and ricotta cheese! It’s truly incredible and I love copying it at home (for much less $!).
I just chop ’em up and throw them on… but my bestie likes to sautée them in her olive oil! It’s one extra step… but SO good!
It may sound silly to list out all these ideas… but they may not be what you reach for everyday! For me, the more ideas the better… especially in relation to easy, healthy, and yummy food ideas! Do y’all have a favorite way to fix your avocado toast?
